Delta State heading to Division II championship game

Delta State University has claimed a spot in Saturday's NCAA DII Championship Game after a 6-5 comeback win over the Minnesota State University-Mankato Mavericks Friday.

Trailing 5-0 in the bottom of the 8th, the Statesmen scored 5 runs after two were out to tie it.

Michael Vinson drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth with a single to left.

The Statesmen will face West Chester University Saturday night for the championship. Game time is 6 PM.
