Students volunteer for community agencies

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Students from across the state entering their high school junior year have decided to continue working, even though it's their summer break!

They're taking part in the HOBY (Hugh O'Brian) Youth Leadership Conference this weekend in Jackson.

The weekend consists of conferences at Millsaps College and volunteer opportunities at various non-profits, such as Stewpot and the Mississippi Food Network.

It's a way for the young people to hone their leadership skills.
