JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County deputies made a large drug bust over the weekend. Sheriff Tyrone Lewis says cocaine, with a street value in excess of $100,000 was seized.

The sheriff showed off the cocaine and $2,000 in U. S. Currency. Lewis said 27-year-old Aaron Taylor of Byram was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, domestic violence and several traffic violations.

Chief Deputy Chris Picou said when this amount of cocaine is taken off of the streets it means a major source of it has been shut down.

"This individual is a substantial drug dealer, to have that much powdered cocaine, to have in his possession at one time" said Picou. "You are talking about $30,000 a kilo, it was two kilos sitting there so you are talking about $60,000 wholesale, well over a hundred thousand dollars once it hits the streets."

Taylor is being held without bond. He is expected to go before a judge later today.
