PURVIS, Miss. (AP) - Jury selection in the trial of Joseph Ronald Hartfield, 1 of 3 people accused of murdering his wife, Tabitha Hartfield, in 2008 in Lamar County remains scheduled for June 18.
But the case will not be heard in Lamar County.
Circuit Court Judge Anthony Mozingo granted a change of venue late Monday at the request of the lawyers representing Ronald Hartfield.
The trial is now scheduled to begin on June 18 in Adams County Circuit Courthouse in Natchez.
Tabitha Hartfield's body was found on May 31, 2008, in a shallow grave deep in the woods off the Purvis to Columbia Road near the Marion County line. She had been strangled and buried a week earlier.
