Researchers have found more than half of family members of children with staph harbored the bacteria. Additionally, one out of five had M-R-S-A, a difficult-to-treat version of staph.
That's significantly higher than the general population.
Researchers say the germs spread easily through contact with household items and that parents were more likely to have M-R-S-a bacteria than siblings.
-Study led by researchers at Washington University School of Medicine and published in the Archives of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine.
