BROOKHAVEN, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Escaped Hinds County inmate James Hopkins, 34, was captured in Brookhaven, Thursday morning, according to officials with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Hopkins escaped from the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond on Monday and was apprehended shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday.

Hopkins has been transported to the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl and will face multiple charges, including escape. He is serving a 20-year sentence for a conviction of Grand Larceny, Escape and Possession with Intent to Manufacture from Rankin County.

MDOC officials also report that a woman who was with Hopkins at the time of the capture was taken into custody. Gina Amanda "Amy" McCallahan was arrested and is at the Desoto County Jail where she will be charged with Aiding and Abetting a Fugitive.

Hinds County Sheriff's Department officials blamed the escape on faulty locks and on-going problems with doors.
