Tropical moisture continues to surge over Mississippi from the Gulf of Mexico. As an upper level low tracks over the area today and our temperatures warm, we'll see scattered rain and storms develop. Heavy rain is the main threat from any storms this afternoon.
Rainfall totals through tonight will be on the order of a half-inch to one inch, with locally higher amounts up to two inches possible.
Highs will be in the lower 80s today.
Though the low pressure area will move away tonight, we'll continue to have lots of moisture over our area. Rain chances will range from slight to moderate each day through Friday.
