WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Yazoo County man was killed after being ejected from a vehicle that swerved to avoid a deer.
M.H.P. Corporal Odis Easterling said the fatal car crash happened at 12:03 a.m. Sunday on Highway 61 north of Childs Road, near Redwood.
Twenty one year old Melvin J. Baker of Bentonia was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was ejected from the rear seat of the vehicle.
Baker was not wearing a seat belt.
Easterling said Herman Ketchson,22, of Yazoo City was driving a red 2006 Chevrolet Impala when he ran off the road to avoid a deer and overturned.
Also inside the vehicle were Saquaneria Collum,19, and Krystal Davis, 22, both of Yazoo City.
All three survivors were taken to River Regional Medical Center.
Their conditions are not known at this time.
