MADISON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The suspected gunman in a Madison shooting has turned himself in.
Javier Jhamone Adams, 23, surrendered to the Madison County Sheriff's Department. He faces one count of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.
Adams is being held at the Madison County Detention Center without bond. He'll make an initial court appearance next week.
Investigators say 50-year-old Tommy Gipson of Brandon was shot twice in the leg Friday night after an altercation in a vacant lot in the 13 hundred block of North Livingston Road.
Gipson was treated and released from a local hospital.
Police are investigating what led to the gunfire.
In a statement, officers say additional charges and arrests are possible in this case.
