Clay Homan wins Mississippi State Amateur

MADISON, MS (WLBT) - Clay Homan ran away with the Mississippi State Amateur Golf Championship.

The Mississippi State men's golf coach fired a -8 (64) on Saturday and followed it with a -1 (71) on Sunday to win his second straight State Amateur by four strokes.

Homan held off former Delta State golfer Grant Goforth on the final day.

Goforth fired a -1 (71) on Sunday but it was not enough to catch up with the red hot Homan.
