Teen Jammz an outreach for MS talent

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Social media is now helping central Mississippi teens to express their musical talents and break into the entertainment industry.

Teen Jammz is an online media process that allows teenagers to upload three minute videos using Facebook. Those videos could eventually be featured on the website's online television show.

The company is targeting those musically talented and techno savvy ages 14 through 25.

Officials say the media showcase gives teens a way to express themselves while learning the business side of the entertainment industry.

"The purpose of Teen Jammz is to be a creative focus to initiate talent here in Jackson and Mississippi to give them a positive avenue to express themselves," said Gregory Howell, Teen Jammz Co-Producer.

Organizers say Teen Jammz is a new project designed to highlight and promote existing talent and contribute to the state's creative economy.
