Richland man drowns off Pensacola Beach

PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. (WLBT) – A 23-year-old Mississippi man drowned off Florida's Pensacola Beach over the weekend, officials said.

A family member identified the victim as Clyde Taylor Cummins of Richland. We're told Cummins was on vacation with family when he was caught in a rip current Sunday.

Heavy rain caused rough surf and widespread flooding along the Gulf Coast over the weekend.
