Freeman Watkins Keeps Swinging

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - For the past 16 months, Freeman Watkins has been using his boxing skills to teach inner city youth the fundamentals of the sweet science.

After a year and a half at his "Keep Swinging" boxing club on Robinson Road, Watkins is facing serious financial problems which would force him to hang up his gloves and face the ultimate knockout.

The former professional boxer has a membership of close to 30 youngsters and despite a struggling economy, Freeman refuses to raise his $40 monthly fee for students.

He says it is not their problem.
