Storms South West; calm everywhere else

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Isolated T-storms popped up in the south west corner of the state, causing several delays along highway 61 and 24 during the morning hours. These spot storms will continue to move to the east at 10-15mph.

Aside from that except, the rule of the day will stay with scattered clouds and a bit muggy. We expect a high of 92 degree  with winds shifting from east / west.

Tonight the moisture in the atmosphere will go on the rise, allowing for more clouds to build during the overnight period. There is a slight chance of a light shower of two to develop below the I-20 corridor. Winds will be light and variable with the lows in the lower 70s.

Tomorrow there's going to be an increase in the chances of rain during the daytime hours. Highs are expected to reach the lower 90s, and the heat index in the upper 90s.
