Two Vicksburg Police Officers are off the job. Chief Walter Armstrong says the two officers resigned under threat of termination.
After receiving a tip, the department launched an investigation and discovered what Armstrong says was inappropriate conduct involving a Vicksburg bonding company and the officers.
Chief Armstrong tells us L.J. Peters, who had been with the department for five years, and Shawn White, an officer for 18 months, resigned from the force a week ago.
Armstrong said the officers would make phone calls or referrals to the bonding company. He would not release the name of the company, but says the business has been suspended indefinitely from working with the Vicksburg Police Department.
