Jackson man dies in La. hotel swimming pool - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
GRETNA, La. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old man from Jackson, Miss., died while swimming in a Gretna hotel pool.
The accident occurred at about 11 a.m. Saturday.
Capt. Russell Lloyd of the Gretna Police Department tells The Times-Picayune Jeremy Davis was swimming with a family member from the shallow end of the pool to the deep end during a family reunion when he sank to the bottom.
Lloyd said Davis was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say they could not confirm whether the cause of death was drowning. An autopsy will be performed to determine a cause of death.
