Pearl man's body found in La. lake

FERRIDAY, La. (AP) - Search teams have found the body of a passenger in a boat that crashed into and collapsed a pier in Concordia Parish, trapping 52-year-old Larry Allen, of Pearl, Miss.

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries spokesman Adam Einck says people who saw the wreck about 12:15 a.m. Saturday pulled the driver - 50-year-old Bruce Pickle of Ferriday - from the water immediately, and tried CPR before an ambulance arrived.

Pickle had been thrown from the boat. Bystanders didn't know someone was under the wrecked pier. Einck says wildlife agents were called later Saturday with a report that Allen might have been in the boat.

He says search teams from the department and Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office had to remove the collapsed pier to find Allen's body. It was found Sunday.
