Gas prices have dropped below three dollars a gallon in some places in the Jackson area which is a financial relief for some drivers and their wallets.
The lowest prices we found were at Walmart and Sam's stores in Rankin County. But there are other places where the price is below three dollars like Mac's Gas on Highway 49 south in Richland.
Les Lampton, chairman of the board of Ergon, Incorporated based in Flowood, a company which owns two refineries and has just bought a third in China, says there is no way to know what will happen to the price of gas.
People buying gas we talked to were thrilled with the lower cost, but some complained it should be lower.
Going below three dollars seems to be a psychological barrier for the some of the people we talked to, but almost everybody is happy the price is lower.
