MDWFP extends alligator hunting application period

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

If you missed the June 15 deadline to purchase an application for lottery-based alligator hunting permits, there's good news. By Executive Order, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks has extended the period to apply. This comes after technical difficulties with the MDWFP's website prevented some people from submitting an application.

The Wildlife Department will re-open the application process on June 25 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight. Applicants must be a resident of Mississippi and at least sixteen years old.

Mississippi has six public water hunting zones and you can apply for any or all of the zones.

There's a ten dollar charge per zone application.

A credit card or debit card and an email address are required to purchase applications. To purchase and submit applications, please visit www.mdwfp.com.
