One inmate injured in Yazoo prison fight

YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

One inmate was seriously injured after a fight at the Yazoo County Correctional Facility. Thirty inmates took part in a fight that began around ten Wednesday night. Authorities say the fight was between gangs within the facility.

Similar fights broke out at the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility in Woodville Tuesday, and at the Adams County Correctional Facility last month.

Authorities believe inmates at Yazoo Correctional Facility were copying recent disorder at the two prisons.
