Get ready for more heat! I expect highs in the mid 90s this afternoon under a sunny sky.
Sunday will be even hotter, with highs reaching the upper 90s. Combine that with our humid conditions and our heat index values will be around 100!
This weekend I'm tracking an area of low pressure in the southern Gulf of Mexico that will likely become Tropical Storm Debby later today. The hurricane hunters will check it out this afternoon and the data they gather will tell us more about the system.
It is TOO EARLY to say what, if any, impact this potential tropical storm will have on our weather. If you have plans that take you to the coast the next few days, you will have some high waves to deal with along with strong rip currents. Check in with me tonight at 6PM on WLBT for an update. I'll have the hurricane hunter data at that time.
