Man shot by homeowner for possibly damaging his home

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police are investigating the death of a man who they say was shot by a homeowner late last night.

JPD Officer Colendula Green says just before midnight police were called to the 1000 block of Pecan Boulevard for a report of a man damaging a residence. They are investigating the death of 29-year-old Robert Sanders of Jackson.

Green says Sanders had reportedly damaged the front door of the home.

Investigators say the unidentified homeowner shot and killed Sanders in the yard of the residence.

No charges have been filed.
