Chicago man arrested for armed robberies

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police have arrested a Chicago man in connection with criminal acts in Belhaven and northeast Jackson.

Assistant Chief Lee Vance told WLBT, 31-year-old Raymond Brown has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and carjacking for an incident in the Belhaven neighborhood last week.

Vance says Brown is also charged with receiving stolen property because he was in possession of an item that was taken from the Maurey Drive home of Jason Mattiace Monday.

Three vehicles were also taken, but two have been recovered.

Raymond Brown is wanted for parole a violation in Illinois.

He's being held in the Hinds County jail.
