There's a great deal of sunshine and heat in store for us today and for the next few days in a row. Heat Advisories have been issued for northern and north east Mississippi. Temps are expected to climb to 100 degrees for today; and that's not taking into account the heat index numbers.
Winds will also be from the SW 10-15 mph; and the UV index at dangerously high (extreme) levels.
Tonight the relief from the heat is not likely to happen quickly, a slow drop into the 80 during most of the evening hours. Overnight lows will eventually dip to the mid 70s; which is a bit warm even for us here in Mississippi. Winds will continue from the south west at 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow the same game played on a different day, with the high score (temperature) being 100 degrees. The winds will continue from the south / southwest at 10-15mph.
Heat advisories haven't been issued at this moment, but by Friday we may have an official issuing of an advisory for the immediate Jackson Metro Area. Regardless, you'll need to remember your heat weather tips like: hydrate, wear light colored clothing, sun screen, hats and work away from the peak heating hours of the day (11am - 4pm).
