Woman's alleged feces mistaken for large animal's at Lufkin store

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin business manager is trying to decide whether or not to pursue criminal charges against a woman accused of defecating a "large animal" amount of feces in the storeroom Thursday evening.

Lufkin Police officers responded to Dollar General, located on the 2100 block of Southwood Drive, at 6:44 p.m., where employees said they discovered a large amount of feces on the floor of the business's storeroom.

Believing that the excrement was that of a large animal, the employees tied the storeroom door shut and reviewed the security files in order to determine the type of animal that left the mess.

Instead, the employees found a woman, believed to be in her 50s and dressed in blue, had entered and left the storeroom before the employees discovered the feces.

The employees said the video cameras did not capture the woman defecating, but did show that she was the only person who went into the storeroom.

The employees pointed out signs on the door that stated, "employees only" and "restroom at front of store."

The store's general manager said she did not know whether or not to pursue criminal charges against the woman.
