There is a magic mirror with former Miss Mississippis.
More than 80 children perform each night and each night three different groups of contestants compete in talent, swimsuit and evening wear.
In the second round of preliminary competition, in swimsuit a future doctor had the right prescription with the judges.
Chelsea Rick, Miss Natchez Race won in this category last year.
"My mom got me in dance when I was 3 years-old so that I could combat childhood obesity. As a child she didn't have those opportunities," said Rick.
In talent a first time win for a first time competitor. Grace Claire Cordes, Miss University Of Southern Mississippi is from Vicksburg and has grown up watching the pageant.
"It becomes ultimately being the best that I can be as an individual, as myself. That's all that I worry about and singing and thanking God for this moment and these opportunities," said Cordes.
Cordes competes in evening wear Friday night.
"We'll have to wait and see! I'm excited," Cordes added.
And for Rick it is talent night.
I'll be performing Happy Days Are Here Again. Its an old Barbara Streisand song," added Rick.
The list of winners is about to get bigger, as the search for Miss Mississippi 2012 will end Saturday night at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
The pageant will be shown live at 8 p.m. on WLBT Saturday night.
