Yesterday our state and nation celebrated our country's 236th birthday.
Here in the Jackson metro area, sweltering heat didn't stop thousands of our fellow citizens from enjoying the many things there was to do.
The Watermelon Classic in Jackson saw a record number of participants while the huge splash pad at the zoo cooled off dozens of kids.
From the area cookouts, Mississippi craftsman displaying their handiwork, the neighborhood parades to the fun filled fireworks shows in Clinton, Madison, and Trustmark Park, it was a special day for so many.
And for so many who are just proud and thankful to be an American.
That's my point of View.
