PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
One day after being promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett, former M-Braves lefty Luis Avilan has been promoted to the Atlanta Braves.
Avilan joins five other former M-Braves -- Mauro Gomez, Gorkys Hernandez, J.J. Hoover, Todd Remond and Adrelton Simmons -- to receive the ultimate call this year.
Avilan began this season with the M-Braves where he went 3-6 with one save and a 3.23 ERA in 16 games, according to the M-Braves.
The 23-year-old was originally signed by the Atlanta Braves as a non-drafted free agent in August 2005.
