JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A former Jackson police officer, charged with accepting bribes, has once again been denied bond.
According to court documents, Federal Judge Linda Anderson believes Monyette Q. Jefferson poses a serious risk of endangering the public.
Jefferson is accused of accepting thousands of dollars to protect undercover FBI agents, posing as drug dealers. He's also charged with conspiracy, for planning an armed robbery of the undercover agents.
Two other former JPD officers are also charged with accepting bribes in the investigation. Terence Jenkins and Anthony Payne Jr. have been released on bond and pled not guilty.
