Increasing rain chances; decreasing temperatures

Posted: Updated:

The weather pattern across the country will undergo some changes. This is great news for many people, including those of us in Mississippi as it means some relief to the heat and the drought.

I expect scattered storms once again on Sunday afternoon, with storms becoming more numerous each afternoon through the middle of the work week. Though most storms will end by the middle evening hours, at least isolated showers and storms are possible during the overnight hours.

Severe chances are low, but the strongest storms will have a chance to produce gusty winds of 40-50mph, small hail, heavy rain and lightning.

Better rain chances, more clouds, and weakening high pressure will result in some cooler temperatures. Highs will reach the lower 90s Sunday, with highs through the work week mainly in the middle to upper 80s.
