Man whose mother stops robbery is headed to court

BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The man who was stopped from robbing a convenience store by his mother is scheduled to go to court Wednesday.

Roy Mitchell was caught on video attempting to rob D's One Stop Convenience Store on Highway 80 in Brandon.

During the robbery attempt Mitchell's mother grabs the gun and orders him out of the store.

She then begs the store clerk not to call the police before walking out.

Mitchell's initial court appearance is scheduled for 1 pm.

His mother was not charged.
