Woman seeks $1.5 million in lawsuit against Vicksburg mayor

Posted: Updated:
WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The former Chief Of Staff to Vicksburg's mayor is seeking $1.5 million in a sexual harassment lawsuit.

Kenya Burks is asking for back wages and compensatory damages. Burks claims she faced a hostile work environment and retaliation because of her two year sexual affair with mayor Paul Winfield.

Legal papers also contain a list of people, in which her lawyers say, could testify to various aspects of their affair.

Winfield has denied claims of sexual relations with Burks.

Burks' lawyers are also saying Winfield's legal team is trying to delay efforts to obtain the mayor's cell phone and text message records.
