ISSAQUENA COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

One person is in custody in connection with the death of a Rankin County woman found in an Issaquena County lake.

Sheriff Richard Jones says Colleen Jane Parkman, 52, died as a result of drowning. Her body was recovered from the landing at Chotard Lake about 1:20 A.M. Sunday.

Family members tell WLBT that Parkman was visiting friends at the lake for the weekend.

Sheriff Jones and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation would not release the name of the person being held because the person hasn't officially been charged with a crime. Relatives tell us the person in custody is a male friend of Parkman's.

Investigators have not released any details on how the Richland woman may have drowned.

Coroner Angela Williams says Parkman was fully clothed when her body was discovered face down in the water at the landing.

According to Williams, there were no obvious wounds to the body.
