Report of dog fighting turns out to be untrue

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Police officers converged on a Jackson neighborhood after receiving a call about dog fighting.

Seven patrol units responded to Duncan Avenue and Wightman Street Tuesday afternoon.

That's in the Millsaps district.

Three animal control trucks were also dispatched to the area.

Police checked out a large unmarked building, but found nothing.

Two pit bulls were spotted in the area, but the animals were tied up. There was no indication of dog fighting.

Animal control says there was nothing to it, just a false police report.
