St. Jude Dream Home nears completion

Posted: Updated:
MADISON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

On Wednesday lots of folks literally hit the ground to leave their mark inside of the St. Jude Dream Home before construction wraps up in a few weeks.

A number of encouraging and positive messages were signed with chalk right on the Dream Home floor. The notes were written all throughout the house during a special ceremony called the floor signing event.

It was an opportunity for St. Jude patients and their families, plus builders and representatives from St. Jude to show their thanks to the future winner of the Dream Home.

"Thank you is a small thing to say because it's such a big thing that they do because if it weren't for Dream Home and the people that buy those tickets that research wouldn't continue," said Stacy Wiley, the mom of a St. Jude patient.

"What it signifies is the well wishes and the messages we want for the new home owner just to bless the home and to say you know what this is your house now thank you for the miracle you've done."

Public tours of the dream home will start on August 4th. Dream home tickets will be sold until the day of the giveaway on September 16th.
