3 injured in hit and run, rollover wreck on Hwy 49

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three people were injured in a hit and run and rollover wreck on Highway 49 in Rankin County Wednesday afternoon.

According to authorities on the scene a juvenile pulled out in front of a Toyota Camry traveling south on Highway 49. It happened at Dixie Road and Highway 49 in Rankin County.

The impact caused the Toyota to rollover. The juvenile in the other vehicle reportedly left the scene.

One person in the vehicle was briefly trapped but wasn't injured. Three others were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities say the juvenile didn't have a driver's license. He reportedly went home after the accident and returned to the scene with his father.

The names of the people involved have not been released.
