Local apartment complex managers met with local law enforcement Thursday to discuss ways to curb crime.
The Hinds County Sheriff's Department and Jackson police hosted an apartment coalition crime summit in Jackson. About 30 area apartment managers attended the event.
They discussed ways to implement crime prevention measures to cut down on car burglaries and other problems at the housing complexes.
"I think it's vital we have open communication with law enforcement. I was impressed to see the sheriff's department and Jackson police here today. They provide a lot of good information. We wanna work with them to prevent as much crime in the Jackson area," said Drew Laster, an apartment manager.
Some apartment managers say their biggest concern is trespassing. The sheriff's department also shared phone numbers, resources, and different measures manager can put in place to prevent non-tenants from entering their properties.
