Posted: Updated:

A Vicksburg woman is stabbed multiple times while working at a casino.

The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. Friday night at The Ameristar Casino.

Investigators say 23-year-old Clarence Jones of Warren County came up behind his ex-girlfriend, 23 year-old Jordan Melton, and stabbed her multiple times.

Her back, torso, and hands were cut. She also suffered a collapsed lung.

Saturday afternoon Melton was listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

Jones was held by security and patrons of the casino until police arrived.

Officers say there is a domestic history between the two and there is a restraining order against Jones from Warren County. He is charged with aggravated assault and is being held without bond.

Jones' initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday morning.

When the stabbing occurred, Jones was out on bond stemming from previous charges.
