Highway 49 one car fatality

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police are trying to identify a motorist killed Friday night in a bizarre accident.

Investigators say that fatal crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. Friday.

The unidentified 25-year-old male died at the scene.

Officials say he was driving a gray Nissan Maxima east on Boling Street and continued across Highway 49 hitting the median.

He finally stopped after colliding into a truck parked at a convenience store in the 5000 block of Highway 49.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham- Stewart says the man's identity is not known.
