Man found dead after beating and being run over by vehicle

YAZOO COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Bentonia man is dead after reportedly being beaten, left on a county road then run over by a vehicle.

Yazoo County Croner Ricky Shivers says the body of 25-year-old Lawrence Howard Swinney was found around 9:30 p.m. Friday night.

Swinney's body was on Highway 433 near Martin Road, west of Bentonia.

The coroner says he was run over by a west bound SUV.

Swinney suffered massive head trauma as well as multiple injuries.

Sources tell WLBT that he was beaten on the roadway, left unconscious and later run over by a vehicle.

We called the Yazoo County Sheriff's for information about this investigation and were told to call back Monday.
