The HEAT is Back In Town....

Posted: Updated:

There's a good deal of sunshine we are expecting for today, with very little threat of rain in the forecast. Heat advisories are still active for the northern portions of the state and near the Memphis area. Officially, none of the counties in our viewing area are under an advisory, however we will have heat index numbers rise to near and slightly above 100 degrees. Winds will be from the south at 10-15 mph.

Tonight clouds will be limited initially during the evening hours, and then a few more are likely during the overnight period. Winds are expected to die down, but still drift from the south at 5 mph. We will maintain a slight chance of rain, but clouds may thicken just after the midnight hour.

Tomorrow the sunshine and the heat and the humidity returns in full force. Highs are expected to rise into the mid 90s, possibly pushing us to 105 or higher for the heat index. Initially it looks like our chances of rain will stay at 20% or lower during the afternoon hours. Winds will continue from the southeast at 5-10 mph.
