Concerns over teen club's racy video

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A video from a Jackson teen club is catching the attention of some parents, who say it shows children involved in lewd behavior.

The video is from an event at a club called Element on Ellis Avenue in Jackson.

The club has been in operation since the first of the year, but now some are questioning what really goes on inside this teen club.

One video was recently posted of a May event where recent high school graduates were invited to attend. Some parents say some of the video goes way beyond a NC-17 rating.

"The most shocking thing I saw in the video was the girls lying on the stage on their back with the guy's face in between their legs and they were proceeding to act like they were having oral sex with the girls," said Daisy Carter, a Community Outreach Specialist for the National Council On Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. "We saw a bunch of young students, young kids that just graduated from high school engaging in lewd and disrespectful acts. I can't describe, you actually have to see the video; it looks very much like child pornography."

The raciest video has now been removed from YouTube. DJ  T Money, who hosted the event, says it's just dancing and there's no proof the video was taken inside the club. He declined to talk on camera, but says the club is a non-violent, drug and alcohol-free safe haven for kids in a city where their entertainment choices are limited.

It's a video that's drawing a lot of attention from parents, who believe it could be a wake up call to find out where your children are really going.

"If your teen or young ones are attending an event you need to be aware of what's going on. You need to be aware of the location, people they're around even if it's a small gathering, you need to be aware of what's going on," Carter said.
