Car burglary victim speaks out

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Sharon Slater of Madison says her car was broken into while parked in the Biglots! parking lot in north Jackson Monday.

Slater says her daughter was driving the car at the time, and a friend had left a purse tucked under the front passenger seat.

When they exited the store, the window was broken, and the purse containing $300.00 was gone.

Slater says she was told by managers at the store that there had been five burglaries there this month.

Slater blames the store for not warning shoppers of the problem, and not putting up surveillance cameras.

Biglots! manager T. J. told WLBT News they have had only 2 burglaries this month.
