Terrifying moments for a family Friday night in Jackson when their SUV is carjacked with their three children still inside.
After a frantic search, the children have been found. JPD spokesperson, Officer Colendula Green tells us it happened Friday evening shortly before 6 p.m. at 5397 I-55 North at the Porsche Of Jackson dealership.
The carjacker apparently realized the children were inside the vehicle and dropped them off, not far from the business on Clair Street. We were told the father went inside the business to talk with a salesman and the mother was standing next to the vehicle. That's when the thief jumped inside their SUV and sped off with the children inside.
Witnesses on the scene tell us the mother was completely distraught. A short time later all three children were found at 5256 Clair Street.
They were not injured.
Police are now searching for a 2009 black Chevy Trailblazer.
