There have been newly issued Heat Warnings and Advisories for portions of Mississippi as we square off against dangerous heat for this work week. Warren, Issaquena, Humphreys, Sharkey, Bolivar and Washington counties are under a Heat Warning (105-115 hx). All other counties in our viewing area are under a Heat Advisory (101-106 hx). Expect a high of 100 degrees, which is 4 degrees below the record set for this date; winds west at 5-10 mph.
Tonight the excessive heat will die down because of the sun going down, but still staying muggy. Overnight temps will mainly stay in the 80s, but the low expected to eventually dip into the upper 70s. Winds will stay light.
Tomorrow the dangerous heat is likely to continue at temps are still expected to flirt with the 100 mark; just slightly below. Heat advisories are likely to continue for several counties, and seeking refuge from the heat 'standard operational procedure' for this work week. No rains of relief are expected to heat until Wednesday; late Tuesday if we're lucky.
