Fire destroys house in Pocahontas

HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A family in Pocahontas lost nearly everything Wednesday morning when their house caught on fire.

It happened in the Northhaven Subdivision, off Highway 49 North.

The fire was apparently caused by a BMW leaking fuel in the garage.

The newly constructed house was completely destroyed.

Firefighters had to bring in water from a nearby pond to help put out the fire.

No injuries were reported, but firefighters did have a tough time battling the blaze because of the heat.
