Suspect caught ending Rankin Co. manhunt

BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Florida felon who sparked a manhunt in Rankin County Thursday afternoon has been captured by law enforcement officials.

According to Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey, officers picked up Stephan Bibb, 27, while he walking on Shiloh Road in Brandon Friday morning at approximately 7:15.

Bibb was considered armed-and-dangerous and is wanted for armed robbery in Florida.

Bailey said a caller to the sheriff's department identified a man matching the description for Bibb coming out of some woods headed to Shiloh Road.

Bibb was apprehended a short time later and is at the Rankin County Jail.
