CLINTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A tire blow out caused a horrifying rollover accident on I-20 in Clinton Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened around two o'clock in the westbound lane of the interstate near Norrell Road.
Clinton Police Chief Don Byington said three Louisiana residents were inside a Ford Explorer when the blow out occurred.
The vehicle overturned then landed upright but trapped the driver.
Clinton firefighters worked to rescue the motorist while interstate traffic was down to one lane of travel.
Investigators said he was taken to Central Mississippi Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
The two passengers were also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Their names have not been released.
No other injuries were reported.
