Sunday shooting victim identified

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Police have identified one victim in Sunday's deadly shooting at a south Jackson apartment complex.

Derrick Scott, 27, of Jackson was shot one time. He continues to recover from the non-life-threatening injury at a local hospital.

The man who was killed at the Belvedere South Apartments has not been identified, pending the notification of the next of kin.

Police were called to the apartment complex Sunday about 6:45 p.m. after gunfire erupted inside a crowded courtyard.

Investigators don't have a motive and aren't saying if the men lived at the apartments.

No arrests have been made.
