The BancorpSouth in Jackson's Fondren neighborhood was robbed around 10:20 a.m. Thursday.
The bank is located at 2710 N. State St. in the area where State Street and Old Canton Road connect.
Jackson police say a black male displayed a note that indicated he had a gun. However, he didn't display a weapon.
Four customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery.
The suspect reportedly fled north on foot on State Street from the business. He is described as a black male wearing a blue surgical cap, all white clothing and sunglasses.
Authorities believe there is surveillance video of the suspect, and they hope to release it soon.
Police say the man matches the description of a suspect in another bank robbery in downtown Jackson earlier this year.
On May 8th the BankPlus on Capitol Street in the Landmark building, was robbed by a man also with a bandage on his face and blue hospital cap.
